In the Garrett house, it’s not really summertime until David’s mom has made her famous homemade peach ice cream, which pairs all too well with my own fresh pound cake. It’s the perfect touch to our  family gatherings.

Summer brings some of my favorite flowers to life. Hydrangeas, gardenias, magnolias… As I enjoy my early morning walks I anticipate their first buds, and look forward to the promise of their beautiful blooms. Nothing quite compares to the colors and aromas of these summer sensations.
